The USDA - Rural Development Agency maintains a portfolio of over 800,000 loans for low to moderate income housing in rural areas. Rural Development originates and services the mortgage loans.
Rural Development needed a document imaging and electronic workflow system to streamline mortgage loan document processing and maximize processor productivity.
QFlow Systems consultants implemented a IBM FileNet imaging system that streamlines mortgage loan processing. The system consists of multiple scanning and workflow applications that support a paperless loan-servicing environment. The system currently stores over 28 million electronic documents and provides concurrent access to over 500 users. The system has been in production since May 1997.
New mortgage loans are set up faster with fewer errors. Managers can view items in the electronic workflow and balance work as necessary. Because the loan files can be accessed on-line within seconds, customer inquiries can be answered without delay. The new imaging system was a key part of a larger automation project that helped save the agency over $250,000,000 in the first five years of operation.
QFlow consultants designed, developed and implemented the customized applications. QFlow has continued to provide application enhancements, upgrades, system maintenance and technical support services.
